R&D Project Market Competition: Descriptions and Participation Conditions
Information about the Competition
The workshop, planned to be held from November 16-18, 2023, at the Kayseri Ommer Hotel under the auspices of the Kayseri Commodity Exchange, will consist of expert guest speakers, oral and poster presentations, as well as the R&D project market competition segments.
The competition is designed to set an example for product development efforts in the meat and meat products sector and to bring a new perspective to the industry. The works will be evaluated under the themes of "Meat Processing Processes & Innovative Products in the Red/White Meat and Meat Products Sector," focusing on innovative approaches that can be applied in the sector.
Participants wishing to join the R&D Project Market Competition are required to fill out the "Online Abstract Registration Form" provided in the link and upload the Kayseri Traditional Meat and Meat Products R&D Project Market Competition file at the end of the form.
Project Evaluation Process
After the application process is completed, all projects will be reviewed by a selection committee. The committee will include esteemed faculty members working in the field of meat and meat products, as well as subject matter experts depending on the nature of the project.
Projects will be evaluated based on their alignment with the competition themes, their feasibility, and their potential for investment and profitability. It is very important for applicants to clearly present their project ideas with concrete data, in accordance with the project format, to ensure the success of the project.
The results of the pre-evaluation will be published on our website on November 10, 2023. Projects selected after the pre-evaluation will be announced on our website. These selected projects must be transformed into poster presentations in accordance with the poster preparation guidelines.
Candidates who do not pass the pre-evaluation will have the opportunity to present their project ideas as poster presentations in the allocated area during the workshop.
The transportation and accommodation expenses for candidates selected in the pre-evaluation will be covered by the Kayseri Commodity Exchange. The Kayseri Commodity Exchange workshop organizing team will contact the selected candidates with information regarding the transportation and accommodation options available to them.

What Else is Offered for Successful Projects?
The top candidates will receive the following prizes:
- 1st Place: 17,500 TL
- 2nd Place: 12,000 TL
- 3rd Place: 7,500 TL
In addition to the prizes, successful business ideas among the projects may attract attention from investors. Promising projects could receive investment capital to bring the selected idea to life.
Workshop Poster Presentation Guidelines
Participants wishing to submit a poster presentation for the workshop must fill out the "Online Abstract Registration Form" linked on the website, and upload the “Abstract Template” provided at the end of the form.
The language of the presentations is Turkish. Submitted papers must focus on applications in the red/white meat and meat products sector and should be original research or review papers that have not been published before. The papers should be prepared as abstracts. It is strongly recommended that participants use the provided abstract template when preparing their submissions.
Abstracts should be uploaded in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format and named using the surname of the corresponding author.
The scientific committee will select some abstracts for oral presentations. A corresponding author can submit up to two abstracts for oral or poster presentation, but for additional submissions, they can only appear as a co-author. Authors who submit poster presentations and wish to also participate in the R&D Project Market competition may do so by filling out the online registration form again.
All submitted abstracts will go through a scientific evaluation, and the evaluation results will be sent to the corresponding authors via email. All participants submitting poster presentations will have the opportunity to present their posters in their designated areas during the workshop. The posters will be displayed on numbered panels.
Students who have submitted poster presentations will be selected by the scientific committee for oral poster presentations, which will be delivered in short sessions to the participants. The presentation file should be sent by email to info@kayseritb.org.tr before the session.
Pre-evaluation results will be published on our website on November 10, 2023. Selected candidates will have their transportation and accommodation expenses covered by the Kayseri Commodity Exchange. The Kayseri Commodity Exchange organizing team will contact selected candidates with details about transportation and accommodation options.
Posters must be prepared in 70 cm (horizontal) x 100 cm (vertical) dimensions and should be clearly readable from a distance of 1 meter. Posters will be displayed on numbered panels designated by the organizing committee. Workshop assistants will be available to help participants find their poster numbers and hang their posters. Poster presenters are expected to remain at their posters during the designated presentation times to provide information about their work. At the end of the workshop, posters can be collected. Posters not collected by the end of the event will be gathered by the workshop staff.
An electronic proceedings book will be published after the workshop.
